Never left behind...

The Marine Corps is a team. We are a team of the most faithful men and women you will ever know.

Our detachment is filled with Active and Former Marines as well as Corpsmen, family members and others who care. If you are a Marine who needs any kind of assistance, for any reason, we are here. On the outside just as in battle, you won't be left behind.

Since our inception Detachment 1144 has helped Marines and FMF Corpsmen of all ages with problems from minor to major.

As a Marine you have enough to do. Let us help.

Marine Corps families are never alone
Being the family member of a US Marine is hard and we all know it. Some of us have been there before and some of us still are alone and waiting. sWe have been there before and have seen first hand the challenges that our familes can face.

The Marine Corps League Detachment 1144 works hard to support our community. When disasters occur, no matter if it's a personal issue or a local disaster, as a Marine Corps organization, we will always look out for Marine Corps familes first.

In the past we have provided family members with what we could, from personal support to money. No matter if you are a parent, spouse or child, let us know when you need help.

Take a look at a few of the issues we may be able to help you with.

We Are Involved
We live here too! And just as we help each other, we also do everything we can for our community. After all, our friends, neighbors and fellow Americans is why we became Marines to start with.

Detachment 1144 has been helping people in the Volusia Couny area since our inception.

What have we done?
Hurricane, tornado and flood relief just to get started.

Just one day after recent tornados Detachment 1144 was deployed to the streets of DeLand and raised thousands of dollars for victims.

The United States Marines can be anywhere in the world in 24 hours and the Marine Corps League can start helping our community in 24 hours or less.

Here's a small sample of our regularly scheduled community involvement...

Boots on the Street fundraising
USMC Reserves Toys for Tots
Local Parade Participation
Promote comunity involvement

So long as he or she walks the planet, no Marine is an Ex-Marine. But with humanity, so comes the day that we leave.

At the request of the family Detachment 1144 will be with you when you leave. Either as a Color Guard or Honor Guard. It's our honor and duty to see you off.

Members of the Marine Corps League join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps, banding together those who are now serving in the United States Marine Corps and those who have been honorably discharged from that service that they may effectively promote the ideals of American freedom and democracy, voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines and former Marines and to their widows and orphans; and to perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps and by fitting acts to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Marines.
